The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Redesign and repave the parking lot at MLK Charter School. To be completed prior to 8/28/23. The primary objectives of this project are: 1. Expand staff and visitor parking. 2. Improve efficiency and safety of entry and dismissal in the parking lot. 3. Improve drainage. 4. Pave an area for the dumpsters. 5. Expand entry and egress from 3 to 4 lanes. 6. Incorporate the area adjacent to the basketball court to create a contiguous hardscaped play area 1. Survey the property to identify opportunities for parking and egress expansion. 2. Attain any and all necessary permits including Dig Safe. 3. If needed, secure police detail. 4. Expand entry and egress to increase from three to four lanes. 5. Remove old asphalt. 6. Expand parking lot foot print to increase parking spots. 7. Ensure the parking lot is ADA compliant. 8. Repair and replace and expand pavement base as needed. 9. Create a base and then pave a 50 foot area where the dumpsters are currently located. 10. Ensure pavement is pitched to support rain and snowmelt drainage. 11. Incorporate all drains, manholes, and pipes into parking lot structure. 12. Restripe parking lot to take into account current parking and traffic needs. 13. Replace asphalt sidewalk with cement sidewalk to create a contiguous look. 14. Extend cement sidewalk between main entrance and the basketball court. 15. Restripe parking lot per consultation with the Executive Director.
