Sealed bids for construction of the Sylvania Water Meter Replacement Project will be received. The work shall consist of labor and equipment to perform the following: Implement a meter change-out for approximately 1,512 water meters with AMI modules. A work summary will include the replacement of existing water meters with Master Meter water meters and TESCO AMI transmitters and retrofitting approximately 180 existing Master Meter water meters with TESCO transmitters. The City of Sylvania will supply the water meters and transmitters. Time allotted for completion of work is ninety (90) calendar days. Bidders must have installed a minimum of 5,000 AMR/AMI equipped meters in the past 5 years. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier's check in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid. Funding is to be provided by the City and GEFA. All bidders must comply with 41 CFR 60-4, in regard to affirmative action, to ensure equal opportunity to females and minorities and will apply the timetables and goals set forth in 42 CFR 60-4, as applicable to the area of the project. The City complies with all federal requirements outlined in the 2014 Appropriations Act and related DWSRF Policy Guidelines, which GEFA understands, includes, among other requirements, that all of the iron and steel products used in the Project are to be produced in the US. This project is subject to the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, which determines wage rates based on the area in which work is performed.
