Project Category Code: Environmental Remediation, Erosion Control/Slope, Bank Stabilization Description: The project consists of stream restoration of both Granite Creek ("Granite Creek Channel Restoration Project" and Upper Alder Gulch ("Upper Alder Gulch Restoration Project"). The Granite Creek Channel Restoration project will realign and restore approximately 1,250 feet of existing Granite Creek both upstream and downstream of Highway 287 to a new confluence location with Alder Gulch and will require close coordination with the MDT Granite Creek Bridge replacement project at the highway crossing. Associated work includes, but is not limited to, channel construction including hardened riffle and pool formations, temporary bypass channel construction, decommissioning fill of existing channel, roadway erosion mitigation, natural bank treatment and construction, and revegetation of disturbed areas. The Upper Alder Gulch Restoration Project will realign and restore approximately 950 feet of existing Alder Gulch beginning at the new confluence with Granite Creek and working downstream. Associated work includes, but is not limited to, channel construction including hardened riffle and pool formations, natural bank treatment and construction, and revegetation of disturbed areas.
