Upgrades to existing buildings as part of the Tower Renewal program, designed to drive broad environmental, social, economic, and cultural change by improving city of Toronto older high-rise apartment buildings and the communities that surround them. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Consulting Services has been issued by the city of Toronto. The owner is seeking Consultants to provide energy use reduction measures and Energy conservation programs as part of the Tower Renewal Program. As part of the Sustainable Towers Engaging People (STEP) Program helps property owners and managers reduce operating costs, improve building value and quality of life for residents. The awarded proponent will o achieve improvements to a broad range of residential buildings, a framework was developed to guide and monitor integrated performance improvement through the STEP Program, which encourages and supports voluntary measures to improve the environmental efficiency of buildings and to strengthen and enhance quality of life for residents. Participation in the program does not impact the obligations of participants to comply with all regulatory requirements including City of Toronto Property Standards and the Ontario Fire Code.
