Review of plans submitted for planning or zoning review for public works and private development issues, including conceptual or preliminary plans, architectural plans, site plans, and preliminary grading plans. o Review of projects submitted under the Subdivision Map Act and related provisions of the City's Municipal Code. This includes but may not be limited to tentative and final maps, lot mergers, lot line adjustments, certificates of compliance, dedications, vacations and easements. o Attend meetings with City staff, public officials, developers, contractors, and the public as needed. o Attend Commission and City Council meetings as needed. o Provide design and project construction and contract management services for public works projects and other select capital improvement projects. o Advise City staff as to grants or other funding available for public works projects and, when so directed, initiate and prepare applications for such funding of grants. o Coordinate, consult, and provide input to other departments and agencies as may be required. o Provide emergency services as necessary. o Provide general consulting and technical advice to City staff, applicants, and/or residents. o Provide civil, electrical, mechanical, architectural and landscape architecture design, construction and/or operation services. o Provide water quality, stormwater, NPDES, solid waste, recycling and other environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting services. o Assist with the implementation and development of the capital improvement program. o Review and certify design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for City capital projects. o Review and provide feedback on private development construction plans, mapping, and projects for compliance with City adopted design standards, subdivision standards and related work as required. o Assist the City in the design, management, construction management, inspection, administration, and processing of federal and state-funded projects. o Assist the City with processing grant applications. o Provide miscellaneous engineering tasks, feasibility studies, investigations, and other duties as directed by the City. o May serve as the City Engineer.
