Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Ocracoke, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.

Replace the septic tank with a new tank and lift station connect to another lift station. 1. Obtain an updated septic permit from Hyde County Public Health Department before commencing the work on site. Provide a copy of the completed permit to the CO/COR. 2. Demo existing 750 gal concrete septic tank and distribution tank located immediately behind the maintenance building. 3. Provide new 1,000 gallon concrete septic tank. Locate new tank in approximately the same location as the existing. 4. Connect existing sanitary sewage drain pipe from Ocracoke maintenance and the Laundry building to the new septic tank. a. Provide properly sealed joints and connections from the existing drain pipes to new sections of pipe which seal to the new septic tank. Use schedule 40 PVC approved equal material. 5. Provide new exterior enclosed package unit above ground sewage lift station suitable for a marine environment. Connect new lift station to the electric panel within Ocracoke Maintenance Building. Lift station shall have the following specifications: a. NEMA rated Pump Control System b. Float Operated c. Self priming pumps d. Single phase electrical components e. Alarm notification system including visual light f. Enclosure with following: i. Fiber glass Reinforced Plastic corrosion resistant, mildew, mold, and UV ray resistant. ii. Removable or hinged door panels on two sides allowing access to system components. Doors must be securable with padlock and vandal resistant. iii. Fully removeable iv. Pad mounted g. Alternating Dual pumps and motors h. Acceptable Manufacturers include: i. Gorman Rupp 6x6 T2 ii. Wastecorp Pumps 6x6 lift station with enclosure iii. Smith and Loveless Everlast Series iv. Or Equivalent Lift station 6. Connect new lift station to the existing lift station located behind the Ocracoke Office Trailer. a. Trench in new forced main septic line 24 inches minimum below grade, approx. 125 ft. b. Provide properly sealed joints and connections from the existing drain pipes to new sections of pipe which seal to the new septic tank. c. New force main may be jack and bored or trenched. Trenching beneath pavement shall be backfilled with 4 inches of compacted aggregate base course and 3 inches of asphalt patch (cold patch or hot mix) - Aquaphalt 6.0 permanent asphalt repair or equal permanent asphalt repair mix. d. Locate existing underground utilizes prior to trenching
