Renovation of a municipal facility in Hampton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Quarters No.1 sustained damage to the interior of the building due to water damage from a broken steel pipe during freezing temperatures. The damage affected 3 rooms on the main level and 2 rooms of the basement level. Efforts will consist of Removing plaster and lath form the Solarium walls and ceiling; Remove the Solariums wainscot shiplap boards, top cap and baseboard; Remove paint from walls and trim of main floor Bathroom; Removal of plaster and lath from the ceiling of the Mechanical Room; Removal of drywall and plaster and lath from the basement Bathroom ceiling and wall; Repair damaged steel water pipe(s) in the Solarium wall/ceiling; Repair electrical fixture in the Solarium and Main Floor Bathroom. Quarters No.1, also known as Building No.1, and the first permanent building at Fort Monroe, with construction starting in 1819 and finishing in 1825, the building has also undergone several significant renovations over the years. Quarters No.1 is a contributing resource in the National Register of Historic Places and the National Historic Landmark Register. Quarters No.1 will serve as the park visitor center and orientation point for visitors to the park and house exhibits. Efforts will consist of Removing plaster and lath form the Solarium walls and ceiling; Remove the Solariums wainscot shiplap boards, top cap and baseboard; Remove paint from walls and trim of main floor Bathroom; Removal of plaster and lath from the ceiling of the Mechanical Room; Removal of drywall and plaster and lath from the basement Bathroom ceiling and wall; Repair damaged steel water pipe(s) in the Solarium wall/ceiling; Repair electrical fixture in the Solarium and Main Floor Bathroom. The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for the items described in detail in the General Requirements paragraphs. B. All work will be performed in compliance with the Secretary of Interior Standards for Historic Preservation
