Renovation of an educational facility in Montville, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Montville Public Schools (MPS) is requesting bids for installation of a cooler at Oakdale Elementary School. MPS reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor irregularities in bidding and to select other than the lowest bid if deemed in the best interest of the district. OUTLINE OF PROJECT Remove and dispose of existing freezer and cooler refrigeration components. Relocate heat system piping and heater base board in supply room area. Relocate fire sprinkler system piping and sprinkler head relocation. Remove and install sheetrock; provide finish work and painting Provide construction for concrete slab to support new walk-in cooler. Provide shoring to support brick facade and CMU wall. Install angle iron support for CMU for new wall opening. Install CMU wall bearing support beam and wall finish for CMU wall opening. Provide electrical service for new walk-in cooler. Install underground infiltration system for cooler condensate drainage. Contractor is responsible for daily cleanup of all construction debris, its removal and disposal. Contractor is responsible to maintain safety barriers at all times and secure construction area at the end of daily work period. Storage Area Remove 24" wide sheetrock strip along the perimeter on the ceiling to access heat and fire sprinkler pipes to facilitate relocating. After fire sprinkler and heating repairs are complete, replace sheetrock, compound joints, paint and finished. Relocate fire sprinkler system in storage area. Relocate heating from existing location in storage area to the side wall in storage area Electrical: Relocate electrical outlets, provide new electrical service for new walking coolers. NOTE: existing freezer and walking coolers to be removed, the old cooler electric source may be used for new cooler. Relocate BMS controls (these are existing controls which require moving). Remove old refrigeration components from old coolers (Compressors, condenser, and pipping). NOTE: only the refrigeration components to be removed and properly disposed of; the cooler (box) will remain for use as storage Foundation Excavate to the depths and dimensions as depicted on reference plan. Provide granular structural fill to the depths required and as necessary to fill voids. Provide form work for continuous strip footing and concrete slab. Ensure concrete slab surface elevation matches existing floor elevation Brick Facade and CMU Wall Ensure adequate shoring is supplied and install to sufficiently support all loads when removing bricks and CMU wall. Provide detail construction sequence and shoring plan before wall demolition begins. Montville BOE staff's review and concurrence by sign-off is required before wall demo/construction can begin. Provide construction materials depicted on reference plan
