The LCLGRPB is leading an effort to develop two (2) multi-jurisdictional Comprehensive Safety Action Plans for its region. Plan #1 will include the counties of Clinton, Essex, and Hamilton. Plan #2 will include the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council (A/GFTC) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) that includes Warren and Washington Counties and the Town of Moreau (Saratoga County). The study area will include all municipalities within these counties. The safety analysis and mitigation strategies should be conducted for these two multi-county areas, but the strategies and corridor/project recommendations should be grouped by county and focus areas within a county as needed. The Action Plans should include a vulnerable road user analysis, which identifies potential high-risk locations and develops systemic and/or specific mitigation strategies focused on cyclists and pedestrians. The safety analysis will include all year-round public roadways within the region to identify risk factors and mitigation strategies. Given the numerous local and regional stakeholders involved, a heavy emphasis on outreach and consensus-building is anticipated to be part of this planning effort.
