The City of Rio Rancho is soliciting formal bids from qualified and experienced contractors to perform all work associated with the replacement of existing AMR radio read meters with new Owner supplied Sensus iPERL system meters, and the Smart Point radio transceivers. This shall include drilling of necessary holes within the existing fiberglass, or plastic covers of the existing meter boxes to accommodate the transceivers Questions Due Date: Jul 10th 2023, 5:00 PM MDT This project consists of replacement of 2754 existing Badger AMR meters with a new Sensus FlexNet AMI system. This will consist of installing new (Owner Supplied) Sensus IPERL meters and drilling out existing fiberglass or plastic meter can lids to accommodate SmartPont radio transceivers. All removed and salvaged Badger AMR meters will be returned to the City. The contractor will be responsible for all appurtenances to connect the new meter and transceiver and for returning the area surrounding the existing meter can at each address to its original condition. The Contractor will be responsible to insure each new meter upon installation is working properly and sending data. At the end of each day, the contractor will send an electronic spread sheet to the City of the serial numbers of the meters changed out at each address.
