Site work, new construction and renovation of an educational facility in Bozeman, Montana. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Montana State University-Bozeman (MSU) is seeking an experienced, firm to plan and design a new and/or renovated student housing facilities on the MSU Bozeman campus. The successful firm will have experience in planning, programming, and designing highereducation, undergraduate, and graduate student housing facilities. Refer to Attachment 1 for additional information. MSU has consistently had strong enrollment growth over the past ten years, which has resulted in increased occupancy across the campus's housing system. During the past 10 years, occupancy has averaged above 95%. Such high occupancy rates have left MSU minimal flexibility to accommodate increases in demand from first year students, returning and transfer students, graduate students, or necessary maintenance and renovations of existing facilities. Additional housing is needed to accommodate current demand, allow for future growth, and provide supplemental capacity to allow for renovating older residential facilities. MSU will be delegated management of the project contracts upon selection of a design firm. The selected firm will lead a high-quality, high-paced, high-value design effort from programming through final construction documents and into construction administration pending the University's receipt of authority to construct the relevant project(s). The successful consultant shall have adequate staff to successfully manage efficient project delivery while responsibly managing the project scope, schedule, and budget. Contract scopes from this solicitation may include various housing projects with a potential for a large-scale new construction or renovation housing project (e.g. new dorm building). Scope of assigned work will be subject to receipt of authority and funding by MSU. The project team will be capable of participating in an alternative delivery method (General Contractor/Construction Manager) to manage project complexity, schedule, and budget in the best interest of MSU. The selected firm must have experience with alternative delivery projects. The project may pursue LEED or other building certification consistent with sustainability, wellness, and resilience goals for the University. The facility shall - ata minimum - comply with the State's High-Performance Building Standards.
