The Battle River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) is seeking planning services to develop tools for municipalities and Indigenous communities to align service delivery plans with the Battle River and Sounding Creek watershed management goals. Over an 18 month contract, the RFP Respondent will: A) Complete an audit of watershed management regulations in municipal bylaws and land use policy and Indigenous land use policy across the Battle River and Sounding Creek watersheds; B) Deliver a Discussion Guide on Watershed Regulation in Bylaws and Policy in Land Use Planning to summarize the results of the audit and provide context for the project; C) Host a minimum of two engagement sessions with decision makers; D) Provide a minimum of 15 Implementation Guides with recommended language for adopting watershed regulations and policy; E) Deliver status reports in-person, twice during the project, to the BRWA Board and Land & Water Committee. The RFP Respondent will be required to demonstrate experience in environmental or watershed planning regulations. Preference will be given to a RFP Respondent with knowledge and experience in rural, small urban, and Indigenous communities. Capacity to bring additional services such as research, engagement, and community consultation is an asset.
