County - Fleming Route - KY-57 Item No. - 9-80103.00 Project Description - Reconstruct KY-57 to provide better horizontal and vertical alignment, wider shoulders, and extend clear zones Approximate Fee - $1,000,000 Preliminary Engineering & Environmental Services (Lump Sum) Project Funding - STP Funds (Federal Funds) Project Length - Approximately 7.307 miles First Selection Meeting: July 10, 2023 Final Selection: July 26, 2023 Pre-Design Conference: August 2, 2023 Consultant Fee Proposal: August 11, 2023 Contract Negotiations: August 23, 2023 This document constitutes a Request for Proposals for a Professional Service Contract from qualified individuals and organizations to furnish those services as described herein for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Highways. The purpose of this project is to address the current roadway deficiencies to improve mobility and connectivity between the AA Highway and I-64. This section of KY-57 is part of a combination of state highways that provides direct linkage between the AA-Highway and I-64. There is the need to provide a more consistent and reliable roadway for vehicular and truck traffic traveling along this combination of state highways that make up this north/south corridor. This section of KY-57 is the last remaining segment within this corridor that has not been reconstructed or in Phase II Design. The Consultant team shall include a DBE Participation Plan with their Response to Announcement to help the Department meet the 11.95% DBE goal established by FHWA. The plan should demonstrate how DBE companies will be mentored or used to assist in the area(s) pertaining to this contract. An additional page will be allowed in the Project Approach (Section 7) to exhibit this plan. A maximum of four (4) points will be considered in the Evaluation Factors for the DBE Participation Plan.
