**As of August 16, 2023 project was awarded to GEARING CIVILWORKS, awarded amount is $274,701.46.** Asphalt parking lot rehabilitation including asphalt overlay and/or leveling, full-depth reclamation, parking lot striping, signage as described in the Contract Drawings and Specifications.. Bidding Documents may be downloaded from an internet link that will be provided by the engineer. Prospective Bidders are urged to contact the administrative assistant for the Engineer, Pat Boiton at to register as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website In either electronic or paper format. The internet link will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other bidding Documents will be offered through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other then the designated website. Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis stated in the Instructions to Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been calied on the date of the opening of bids. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond made payable to the COLUMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work; such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly enter into a contract agreement and furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, as provided by law and approved by the Attorney for the COLUMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT. Each bond shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. The Bid Bond will be forfeited to the COLUMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the contract. Certified checks or letters of credit are not acceptable. A surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition, must execute bonds. The surety company shall have an A. M. Best Company rating of "A" with a financial size of VII "7" or better. Bonds must be accompanied by a letter stating bonding company's current rating for verification prior to acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor Agreement. Contractor and Subcontractor shall require the Attorney-in-Fact who executes bonds on behaif of sureties to attach a certified current copy of his Power of Attorney. Contractors shall submit to the Owner the completed "Article 8 Statement of Bidders Qualifications Form" attached to the Proposal Form at the time of the bid. Bidders are required to have prior site construction experience on similar school projects or comparable projects of similar content, scope, and difficulty. The successful bidder must be prepared to submit within five (5) days of Owner's request a properly executed AIA Document A-305 with a current audited/reviewed financial statement (both to be less than one (1) year old). Inquiries concerning procedures should be directed to the office of the Engineer, EMC ENGINEERING SERVICES, INC., 4424 Columbia Road, Suite B, Martinez, GA 30907, telephone number (706) 863-8010. Upon request, bidders may obtain bid documents on a USB storage device from the office of the engineer at a cost of $75 (including shipping), which is non-refundabie. The Owner reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. Any objections to the Bid Documents/Specifications as presented should be filed in writing prior to bid opening date. For ail further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Question Deadline 07/04/2023
