Any reference therein to the State of Washington or to an officer thereof shall be construed to mean Whatcom County or the appropriate equivalent official of Whatcom County. Gradation requirements for the HMA Class 1/2" and HMA Class 3/8" shall be per Section 9-03.8(6) of the Standard Specifications. Oil content for both classes of HMA shall be not less than 4.5% or more than 5.5%. Aggregatesfor Asphalt Treated Base (ATB)shall be in accordance with Section 9-03.8 of the Standard Specifications. Oil content shall not be less than 3.5%. Delivery temperature of the HMA and ATB shall not be less than 225 Deg. F. The aggregate grading requirements for cold mix shall be the same as for the asphalt content, and the total mixture shall be a minimum of 6.5%. Aggregates for cold mix shall not be heated beyond 180 Deg. F. Bidders who wish to further modify these requirements must submit complete specifications for their proposed alternate with their bid. All mixes purchased as a result of this bid are subject to approval of the Whatcom County Public Works Maintenance & Operations Superintendent.
