The District will be re-bid the project at the start of our new fiscal year which will begin on July 2024. The information for bidders, proposal, form of contract, plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the district clerk at the above address. Anyone submitting a bid for this project must have read and utilized for bidding the first taxing district of the city of norwalk, water department, standard specifications dated june 14, 2017 A certified check or bid bond in the amount of fifteen percent (15 %) of the total bid amount must accompany the bid. Said checks or bid bonds will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders upon Award of the Contract to the selected firm and execution of the Agreement. If any bid is not accompanied by a bid bond or check at the specified time for the bid opening, the incomplete bid will not be read and this action will constitute automatic rejection of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and materials payment bond in the form as attached to the Bid Documents for the total amount of the bid. A certified check cannot be substituted for either bond. The District reserves the right to alter quantities and to accept or reject any or all bids or any portion of any bids, for any or no reason, including unavailability of appropriated funds as it may deem to be in its best interests. The approval of such governmental agencies as may be required by law. 2. The appropriation of adequate funds by the proper agencies The project scope of work includes: o Excavate all test pits, as shown on the Contract Drawings or as directed by the Resident Engineer, to determine the locations of existing water mains, utilities, and storm drainage crossings. All test pits shall be excavated prior to the start of any water main installation work. o Furnish and install new 16" diameter DIP water main along Hendricks Avenue, Mulberry Lane, Laurel Street and Saint John Street to East Avenue. Furnish and install new 8" diameter DIP water main on Elton Court between Hendricks Avenue and Yankee Doodle Court. o Furnish and install new fire hydrants and remove existing fire hydrants at the locations shown on the contract drawings. o Install new water service connections from new water mains to curb stop and curb box, remove the existing curb box and stop at locations above. Temporary shutdowns are permissible as described herein. o Perform all other incidental work, which may be required to complete the project as specified herein and as shown on the drawings.
