Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) requests quotes from qualified vendors to provide specified upgrades and modifications for an Eaton brand electrical cabinet as stated in the Specifications/Scope of Work contained herein. The KCATA has acquired a new Eaton 3000 Amp Electrical Cabinet for Electric Vehicle Charging. This cabinet has not yet been installed and requires modifications because of revisions to the project it was originally purchased for. It is the desire of the KCATA to have this piece of equipment ready for service to provide to a contractor for installation for Electric Vehicle Charging. A 1200 Amp breaker is currently installed in the cabinet. This 1200 Amp breaker will need to be replaced with 3-400 Amp breakers to accommodate future EV Charging. Additionally, the entrance lugs into the cabinet require upgrades to make the cabinet accommodate direct secondary service from a 2500 KVA transformer upstream and 12-500 KCMIL cables as part of the secondary service cables into the cabinet. The KCATA will provide access to the existing cabinet so modifications may be made. A bid form is included for convenience, which indicates the materials and labor to make this modification.
