Reference Number 0000249887 Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/06/28 11:30:00 PM EDT Waterfront Toronto (legally known as Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation) invites all qualified firms to submit a Proposal for School Conceptual Feasibility Study. There are several new schools proposed as part of the revitalization of Toronto’s Waterfront. As described in greater detail in the RFP, the Keating Channel Precinct Plan (2010) identified a school facility in the Keating Channel neighbourhood located just east of the Parliament Street Slip to serve both the Keating Channel and East Bayfront neighbourhoods. This parcel, which sits within the Quayside development area, is referred to as Quayside Block 5 (see map attached in Appendix A, Section 2.1, Figure 1). In the years since the adoption of the Keating West Precinct Plan, the Villiers Island Precinct was established, which imagined a ‘catalytic use’ on the west side of Villiers Island, connected to the Keating West Precinct by a pedestrian bridge across the Keating Channel. Because of this connection, Waterfront Toronto began to explore the possibility of a cultural use, rather than a residential use, to co-locate with the school on Block 5. The purpose of this RFP is to conduct a conceptual feasibility study for a new school facility that may be integrated with a cultural destination on Block 5 of the Quayside development. The following two scenarios will need to be explored: 1. A school integrated within a cultural destination 2. A co-located school site adjacent to a cultural destination.
