Collection of accounts receivable and returned checks for various Borough services such as utilities billings, parking and minor offence citations, fire department and ambulance fees, road and service area fees, property taxes for mobile homes, and other recoverable services. On an annual basis and excluding property and sales taxes, the Ketchikan Gateway Borough generates approximately 15,400 invoices with an approximate dollar value of $2,400,000 for debts incurred by the general public. Approximately $51,000 is eventually written off to bad debt on an annual basis. In the last 12 months, the Borough has turned over 321 accounts valued at $49,452, including the added commissions. The average delinquency was 90 days. The Borough does not guarantee similar volumes or account types. The preceding is provided for informational purposes only.
