This project includes the replacement of approximately 2,150 LF of 4" PVC force main with 6" PVC force main utilizing pipe bursting, installation of approximately 675 LF of 6" PVC force main through trenchless construction, including crossing existing drainage channel. A Bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid deemed advantageous to it and waive informalities and defects in the bids and in the bidding process. All bids received after the closing time designated above may be returned unopened at the discretion of the Engineer. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and maintenance bond and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price in a form and from a Surety company meeting the requirements specified in the contract documents. This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administered through the Fort Bend County Community Development Department (Fort Bend County Community Development Block Grant Fund). Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon) wage rate, as issued by the U. S. Department of Labor, contained in the contract documents must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
