Furnish all labor, materials and equipment required for installing 2,109 linear feet of 8 PVC (trenched), 165 linear feet 8 PVC (trenchless), 122 linear feet of 8 Ductile Iron (trenchless), and associated valves, hydrants, bends, fittings, and service lines as outlined in the bid documents. This shall include placement of new 5 sidewalk and concrete pavement, erosion control, traffic control, utility exploration, and finish grading for sod placement by the Urbandale Water Utility. Each proposal shall be made out on a blank form furnished by the Board and must be accompanied in a sealed envelope with a second sealed envelope including either (1) a certified or cashiers check, draw n a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to 10% of the bid or (2) a bid bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, in the penal sum of 10% of the bid. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities and to enter into such contract, as it shall deem to be to the best interests of the Board. The Board will award contract on the basis of then lowest responsive bid either with or without sodden. All work on this project must be completed by June 1, 2024. Payment to the contractor will be on the basis of monthly estimates equivalent to ninety-five percent (95%) of the contract value of the work completed during the preceding calendar month. Estimates will be prepared on the last day of each month by the Contractor, subject to the approval of the Water Utility. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period. These take into account all due allowances for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the contractor.
