For each clarifier, the Project involves demolition and removal of existing sludge collecting mechanisms and appurtenances, access bridges, including stairs and handrails, weirs and baffles, spray water system, mechanical drive, electrical conduits/associated wiring, light poles, and control panels. New components to be installed will generally include new sludge collector mechanisms and appurtenances, access bridges including stairs and handrails, weirs and baffles, spray water system, mechanical drive, electrical conduits/associated wiring, light poles, control panels and other ancillary equipment required for a complete system. The existing concrete floor of each clarifier will also be rehabilitated along with concrete spot repairs on the existing launder walls of both clarifiers. The existing equipment has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced to ensure continual operation of the clarifiers.
