Question Deadline 07/14/2023 at 12:00 AM PT The District of Sechelt is located on the west coast of British Columbia ("BC") approximately 30 kilometres ("km") north of Vancouver. The region, known as the Sunshine Coast, includes approximately 3900 square km on the Sechelt Peninsula surrounded by the waters of the Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound, and Sechelt Inlet. The Sunshine Coast does not have an overland route to the BC mainland and is dependent on the BC Ferry Corporation for the movement of vehicles or by barge for other items. A passenger ferry service runs between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale in the south and a smaller passenger service between Earl's Cove and Saltery Bay in the north. The WRC, located near downtown Sechelt in the "village" neighbourhood is a Level 4 wastewater treatment facility with tertiary treatment capacity, includes a complex odourcontrol system. Commissioned in 2015, the treatment facility includes fine screening, aeration, grit removal, primary clarification, biological nutrient removal and ultraviolet disinfection with optional tertiary treatment using membrane filtration. Following treatment, the effluent is discharged through an ocean outfall into Trail Bay. The District has been making steps towards Integrated AM and is in the process of beginning an AM strategy for all of the District's assets. The District has identified the need for an AM Plan for the WRC to guide future decision making, identify current sustainability gaps, plan future budgets, and set affordable levels of service.
