Reference Number 0000250095 Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/06/30 05:00:00 PM CDT To establish a contractual relationship between the RM of Headingley and a qualified Design-Build team for the design and construction related to the proposed expansion to the Headingley Community Centre. The successful proponent will be responsible from concept to working drawings and design, through the sub-contracting and construction process, for a turn-key solution for the project described herein. The RM of Headingley is looking for a Leed Silver building design, this building must comply with the Manitoba Engergy Code for Buildings. The RM of Headingley is contemplating a 12,000 square foot expansion of our community centre by adding a gymnasium, fitness and community spaces at 5353 Portage Avenue. The RM of Headingley has budgeted $4.5 million for this expansion project. The RM of Headingley has considered the expansion of the existing community centre over the last few years. Council envisioned the centre expanding by incorporating the following features: construction of an 8,500 square foot gym, 2,000 square foot fitness centre, and 1,500 square feet of multipurpose room(s) all to LEED Silver standards, as well as meeting current accessibility standards. Assessing the existing facility for user flow and design efficiencies shall be considered as part of this expansion project. The project is to be funded by various grants and municipal reserves. Headingley Council appreciated the work done by various user groups such as Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District (MHRD), Phoenix Recreation Group, Stantec Architectural Ltd and considered their recommendations as part of the RFP package. The RM of Headingley would like to see construction substantially completed and ready for occupancy by October 30, 2024.
