WORK DESCRIPTION The Caltrans Division of Rail and Mass Transportation in cooperation with the City of Los Angeles, Union Pacific Railroad, and California Public Utilities Commission propose the replacement of railroad (RR) crossing and safety infrastructure work at the RR crossing located in the City of Los Angeles south of 110th Street and Slater Avenue intersection in Watts. This project aims to improve safety by installing devices that will provide active warning to motorists and pedestrians of an approaching train or train occupying the crossing. Additionally, an ADA-compliant pedestrian access route will be provided to and from the improved crossing.
