The City of Markham is soliciting bids from qualified contractors with extensive experience in deep energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction retrofits for the RJ Clatworthy Arena Energy & GHG Retrofit project. The contractor must satisfy all the requirement as set by this bid request and perform the work as defined by the project's specifications and drawings in compliance with all the local standards, codes, and best industry practices as applicable. The purpose of this pilot project is to reduce RJ Clatworthy Arena's energy use and GHG emissions by retrofitting the facility with multiple low-carbon measures in a way that optimizes the project budget and cash flow, complies with Infrastructure Canada's Green & Inclusive Community Building (GICB) program requirements, and demonstrates a planned trajectory of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This project is in alignment with the City's Municipal Energy Plan (MEP) target of achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. The City has completed the detailed design of the project with MCW Consultants Ltd. as detailed in this tender package and per the high-level summary below. This includes detailed design of several mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural systems in the facility that includes: - Gas Furnace (F1) with an Air Handling Unit and an ERV, - Radiant Tube Heaters upgrade to electric, - Electric Baseboard heaters to ERV systems with duct heaters supplying to the daycare and soccer club offices (to be priced separately), - Interior Lighting upgrade to LED, - Exterior lighting upgrade (to be priced separately), - Refrigeration Plant upgrade with new desuperheater, - Domestic Hot Water Boiler (DHW-2) fuel conversion to air source heat pump system - shower head replacement with low flow fixtures, - exterior doors replacement, - infiltration mitigation ensuring reduction of air leakages in the facility, and - a new BAS System for newly installed equipment Documents may be obtained at https://markham.bidsandtenders.ca/ Question Deadline: Wed May 1, 2024 5:00 PM (EDT)
