All questions by prospective bidders as to the interpretations of the Information for Bidders, bid forms, form of contract, general and supplementary conditions, drawings, specifications or bonds, must be submitted in writing to Orazio DeLuca, MCPPO (odeluca@cityofwoburn.com) Chief Procurement Officer-Purchasing Department, City Hall, 10 Common St, Woburn, Massachusetts 01810, by June 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The Contractor shall supervise and direct the Work, using his best skills and attention which shall not be less than such state of skill and attention generally rendered by the contracting profession for projects similar to the Project in scope, difficulty and location. The Contractor shall maintain adequate supervisory personnel at the project site during the performance of the Work. He shall be solely responsible for all construction means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures and for coordinating all portions of the Work under the Agreement. The proposed work includes furnishing all labor, tools and equipment necessary to: clean and cement line approximately six thousand five hundred and fifty (6,550) feet of 6-inch cast iron water main; including furnishing and installing all valves, hydrants, fittings, couplings, temporary water service and pavement as necessary to complete the work as described herein. The Superintendent of Public Works reserves the right to phase work based on school zones, municipal refuse collection routes, other municipal projects within the area or other restrictions that may affect when a street can be milled and resurfaced. During the contract period, streets may be added and/or deleted based on available funding and the immediate needs of the City. The contract term is set for one (1) year. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or parts of bids and to make an award as may be determined to be in the best interests of the City of Woburn. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of certified check, cashiers check; treasurers check or bid bond in an amount not less than 5 percent of the value of the bid. Bidders may not withdraw their bids for a period of 30 calendar days after the bid opening. MBE/WBE: Combined Goal of 10.4% of the Contract Price The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 50 percent of the contract price, for the faithful performance of the Contract. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids received, and to award the contract to any of the Contractors bidding on the work if, in the Citys opinion, the best interests of the City thereby will be promoted.
