Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre currently utilizes digital two-way radios for critical voice communication across its campus located at 201 Georgian Drive in Barrie, Ontario. The facility is comprised of the RVH Main Hospital Building, Main Campus Rotary Building, Gallie Ct. Offices, and Pandemic Response Unit (PRU - a modular structure) that has been erected in the volunteer / visitor parking lot adjacent to the lower Simcoe entrance. Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking to replace its aging two-way radio infrastructure and work with a proponent on a digital mobile radio system redesign that addresses users concerns about coverage and channel availability, provides critical and reliable voice communications across its campus and accommodates short and long-term growth as the campus grows and more users are added. Additionally, RVH is implementing new access control security, video monitoring and emergency notification and paging systems and is seeking to be technology ready and leverage points of integration that will assist radio users in streamlining their work and getting the most from a modern integrated security platform. RVH also operates facilities in the broader community, including dialysis outpatient clinics, cold & flu clinics and health centres and is seeking to extend coverage in the future to personnel working in these external locations.
