The City of Canyon is requesting qualifications from professional consulting firms qualified to develop a Master Drainage Plan for the City of Canyon. With this project, the City has three goals: 1) Drainage Study, 2) Drainage Ordinance Development, and 3) Capital Improvements Plan (in legal conformance with Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 552, Subchapter C). A drainage study of the City and surrounding areas will assess the feasibility of the many proposed developments and allow the City to identify critical areas that will require flood mitigation to ensure no adverse impacts. The Master Drainage Plan will identify flooding hazards within these areas and provide guidance for future growth. Flood mitigation projects that provide the infrastructure needed to mitigate flooding will be identified, costed, and prioritized in the Capital Improvements Plan and added to the current Canyon Hazard Mitigation Plan. Additionally, the information derived from the Master Drainage Plan will be incorporated into the City's risk analysis during the next update of the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The cost and impact of flood mitigation strategies and specific projects will be evaluated. Projects will also be identified that will help to allow for future development, without exposing future structures to an elevated flood risk. The City of Canyon will receive sealed responses for a Master Drainage Plan from consultants interested and qualified to perform such studies. It is the intent of the City of Canyon to select a single consultant to accomplish all the services outlined in this Request for Qualifications. The City of Canyon will receive sealed responses for a Master Drainage Plan to provide for a\ contract commencing within thirty (30) days after the date of the award by the City of Canyon and continuing for a period sufficient to complete the original scope of work within the contracted period of time. The City of Canyon has a budget of $250,000 for this project. All respondents should consider this budgeted amount to be inclusive of all project costs.
