Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a multi-residential development in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development; for site work for a multi-residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a multi-residential development.
Archaeology training and coordination with archaeological monitor. Environmental and structural preparation of site, including bracing of nearby unaffected garage structure. Tree protection measures for all site-adjacent tree, including strategies to protect a tree located in the front of the structure, with close coordination of BC Housing's site arborist. Apartment Wing Structure: Demolition and disposal of apartment wing of structure. Demolition and disposal of all mechanical and electrical components (within buildings and servicing buildings) Demolition and disposal of all interior finishes, millwork and furnishings. Removal of unknown other interior furniture and equipment. Demolition and disposal of all cast in place concrete foundations, footings, slab on grades. Demolition and disposal of all services below grade (including below slab on grades). Removal /disposal and capping off all relevant utility lines including storm, sanitary, steam, and electrical. Coordinate for removal and disposal of all Hazmat items identified within the reports provided. Day of standby and site support while of BC Housing's structural engineer and architectural heritage professional investigate the exposed structure left by the demolition of the apartment structure, and propose a solution to repair the exterior wall and roof of the original sloped roof structure. Once the investigation is completed, partially rehabilitate the remaining structure: Supply new roof, exterior wall, siding and gutters for the remaining original Firehall structure. Backfill with 3/4 road base to grade. Environmental-Hazardous Material The Hazmat Reports should be thoroughly studied by Successful Proponent prior to initiating any work activities that may disturb any hazardous materials. For the abatement work, the Successful Proponent and/or its Sub-contractors must have successfully completed a recognized course or equivalent training in performing hazardous materials removal. All hazardous materials abatement work must comply with WorkSafe BC requirements and Schedule G - BC Housing Asbestos Abatement Requirements, Schedule H - Safety Bulletin - WorkSafe Regulation Review, and Schedule I - Contractor-Safety-Program attached to this RFP. Prior to work commencing any abatement work, Successful Proponent must submit the following documents to BC Housing: Exposure Control Plan, Risk Assessment, and Safe Work Procedures.
