Site work, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the addition of a 24,000-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility; and for the renovation of a 27,000-square-foot medical facility.
Renovation and expansion of the existing hospital building on the site. The scope of work includes a 2,607 square metres one-storey grade level addition with mechanical penthouse. The expansion and renovation will focus the Centenary Hospital Emergency Department, Cardiac Diagnostic and Arrhythmia Clinic, and Fracture Clinic through the integration and expansion of existing facilities. The project will include configuration of the private driveway and enabling works in the existing 15-storey hospital building. To support and enable the new building expansion, the project also includes: 26 additional treatment stations, including 9 airborne isolation rooms, which the department currently lacks; 6,000 sq.ft. mechanical/electrical penthouse located on the second floor of the building addition; Reconfiguration of a portion of Neilson Rd, which is part of the ring road around the hospital site; Enhancements to the surrounding landscape, roads and parking; A new three-level parking structure to accommodate 240 parking stalls. TIMELINE: Site plan was submitted to the city of Toronto late May 2023. Resubmission was made mid-June 2024 based on comments from city staff. Detailed designs are complete. Working drawings are expected late summer/early fall 2024 pending provincial funding allocation. An enabling works project is expected late 2024, to allow for construction works to begin in Spring 2025. A contractor will be secured through an invited tender late 2024.
