Renovation of an educational facility in Wilberforce, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,000-square-foot educational facility.
WORK DESCRIPTION Base Bid - Dayton Chiller: This scope includes the installation of a new 70-ton, air cooled chiller that will replace the existing chiller system that was previously serving a portion of the Dayton Campus Building. The existing chiller has since been removed, and there is currently a rental chiller that will be removed prior to the installation of this new chiller. The chiller will be mounted on grade, and it feeds a central AHU located inside a mechanical room directly adjacent to the mounting pad of the chiller. The existing chilled water pumps, valves, and various related components will be removed and replaced. Note: The new chiller is specified with an integral pump and buffer tank package. There will be electrical scope in order to install a transformer to step up the voltage to 480V to serve the chiller. There will be controls work scope in order to connect the chiller into the existing controls system. Alternate #1 - CENS Chiller 1 (CH-2): This scope includes the replacement of an existing 225 ton air cooled chiller, with a new 230 ton air cooled chiller. There are (3) existing chillers mounted on concrete pads on grade, across the parking lot from the CENS building. This scope will be to replace (1) of the 225 ton chillers. The intent will be to mount the chiller on the same concrete pad (some pad modification may be required), and reconnect to the existing chilled water main pipes that run under the parking lot to the building. The existing power and control utilities would be intended to be reused/reworked in order to power and control the replacement chiller. The existing mechanical room that houses the chilled water pumps and controls is located in the basement of the CENS building. It is anticipated that only minimal work would be required in this room, as no pumps, piping, etc... is in scope to be replaced. Alternate #2 - CENS Chiller 2 (CH-3): This scope includes the replacement of an existing 225 ton air cooled chiller, with a new 180 ton air cooled chiller. There are (3) existing chillers mounted on concrete pads on grade, across the parking lot from the CENS building. This scope will be to replace the other of the 225 ton chillers. The intent will be to mount the chiller on the same concrete pad (some pad modification may be required), and reconnect to the existing chilled water main pipes that run under the parking lot to the building. Due to physical space restrictions with the existing pad on this chiller, the new replacement chiller can only be 180 tons in order to fit it on the same concrete pad. Alternate #3 - Dayton Air Handling Units: This scope includes the replacement of (2) 20 ton self-contained AHU systems serving a portion of the Dayton Campus Building. The new AHUs will be light-commercial style split systems, 20 tons each. The new AHU will be located in the mechanical rooms that the previous AHU is located in. The indoor AHU will have a hot water coil to reconnect to the building's existing hot water system, and a DX cooling coil which will be connected to a new condensing unit on the roof. This scope will include the demolition and removal of the existing AHU, and the associated condenser on the roof. There will be electrical scope to reconnect the power to the new indoor AHU and the outdoor condensing unit on the roof. There will be controls scope in order to interface the new AHUs with the building's existing control system for the AHUs. There will be some new ductwork as required in order to reconnect the new AHU to the existing ductwork system serving the previous AHU.
