Contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, and materials required to perform requested repairs and refurbishing of existing exterior handrails on Quad B and Quad C Buildings at our Safe Haven Campus located at 23515 Hwy 190, Mandeville, LA 70470. Quads B & C at Safe Haven have a total of 40 exterior handrails to be refurbished and brought into ADA compliance. Quad B has 14 handrails and Quad C has 26 handrails. The handrails are various lengths. Refurbish existing handrails to remove rust and repaint as required. Paint shall be commercial grade high quality enamel paint with rust blocker for metal that is normally used on handrails and high use areas. Color will be black and the brand will need to be approved by the Facilities Management Department. The refurbishment should be consistent with construction standards for outdoor ADA handrails. Contractor is required to complete the work within sixty (60) days from the Notice to Proceed issued by FM. Mandatory Site visit will be held. See section 5.3.1 of the quote package for site visit details Any work that may be reasonably inferred from the specifications or drawings as being required to produce the intended result shall be supplied whether or not it is specifically called for. Work, materials or equipment described herein which so applied to this project are covered by a well known technical meaning or specification shall be deemed to be governed by such recognized standards unless specifically excluded. If the contractor has not done business with the Parish, the contractor should submit a W-9 with their response. Licensing Required If the estimated cost of the work is $50k or more a Contractor licensed by the State to do the type of work indicated in Section 2.1 may submit a quote. The Respondent's signature on the quote certifies that he holds an active license under the provisions of Chapter 24 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes, Title 37. Failure to be properly licensed constitutes authority for the Parish to reject the quote. The Parish reserves the right to require a Contractor licensed for less than $50k depending on the requiements set forth in Section 2.1 and shall provide within 10 days after being notified of an Award. Liquidated Damages In case the work is not completed in every respect within the time that may be extended, it is understood and agreed that per diem deductions of the sum of $500.00 for liquidated damages, as stipulated in the quote and/or contract, shall be made from the total contract price for each and every calendar day after and exclusive of the day on which completion was required, and up to the completion of the work and acceptance thereof by the Parish. Performance Bond For projects costing twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) or more, the successful Respondent shall be required to provide a performance (surety) bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the project cost to insure the successful performance under the terms and conditions of the contract negotiated between the successful Respondent and the Parish. The contract shall not be in force or binding upon the Parish until such satisfactory bond has been provided to and approved by the Parish. The cost of the bond shall be paid by the Contractor. The Contractor may exercise any rights available to it under Louisiana law to terminate for cause upon the failure of the Parish to comply with the terms and conditions of the contract, provided that the Contractor shall give the Parish written notice specifying the Parish's failure and a reasonable opportunity for the Parish to cure the defect.
