The Department of Veterans Affairs Loma Linda VA Health Care System requires the relocation of Two Hot Water Return Pumps onto a New Cement Pad and the Re-Configuration of All Piping to the New Pump Located in the Mechanical Room 1D-01 at the Loma Linda VA Health Care System (VALLHCS). The two existing Taco hot water return pumps are in the mechanical room 1D-01. There are also some butterfly valves that were not capped correctly to prevent water from leaking through them. By relocating the hot water return, pumps, and re-routing all the copper lines it will eliminate excess piping and fittings which means less water leaks in the system. The system at this time has had many water leaks from the compression fittings. All responses to questions will be provided on the spot or posted on Federal Business Opportunities no later than June 28, 2023 OBJECTIVES: Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, transportation, equipment, materials, supplies, and tools, to accomplish the following: o Contractor shall provide a schedule of completion. o Contractor shall relocate the 3/4 " copper drain line 4" closer to wall for the installation of the new concrete pad. o Contractor shall pour a new 36" wide by 60" length x 6" deep housekeeping concrete pad for the two hot water return pumps. o Contractor shall fabricate all piping and fittings prior to the installation. o Contractor shall relocate the electrical connections to new location. o Contractor shall relocate the existing two Taco hot water return pumps. o Contractor shall remove all compression fittings on the hot water return system in the mechanical room. o Contractor shall remove the two existing 2.5" ball valves. o Contractor shall use copper pipe and fittings type -L on entire hot water return system. o Contractor shall reconfigure all 4" piping to the new pump location. o Contractor shall braze all 4" copper piping and fittings and above. o Contractor shall silver solder all 2 1/2" copper fittings and piping and below. o Contractor shall not use any pro-press fittings on hot water return system o Contractor shall eliminate the (2) 4" butterfly valves on the hot water return line by installing a 4" blind flange on each butterfly valve. o Contractor shall commence the point of connection located above next to the #1 butterfly valve. o Contractor shall re-route and silver solder 3/4" line into the 2.5" return hot water line. o Contractor shall install 2 new 2.5" ball valves. o Contractor shall open all valves and test for water leaks. o Contractor shall start the 2 taco pumps inspect for proper operation.Contractor shall demo the old H6"by W36"by 96" concrete pump pad. o Contractor shall insulate the new piping with 1.5" thick fiberglass insulation and cover with white PVC jacketing. o Contractor shall label the new piping with markers to indicate direction of the water flow. o Contractor shall label and name of hot water supply line and hot water return line. o Contractor shall clean up and dispose of all trash in their working are
