Site work for a water / sewer project in Chatsworth, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Work to be Done: The work to be done (hereinafter referred to as "Work") consists of furnishing materials (unless otherwise noted in the specifications) and equipment, and performing all labor necessary for the following project (hereinafter referred to as "Project"): Construct the 2024 Sewer Service to Industrial Development Area as shown in the drawings and specifications. The project will include the installation of approximately 8,000 linear feet of 6-inch sewer force main, approximately 27,000 linear feet of 8-inch sewer force main, approximately 400 linear feet of 12-inch sewer gravity main, the installation of 3 new wet wells with packaged lift stations, and the conversion of an existing lift station into a manhole. The new force main and pump stations will discharge into an existing 8-inch sewer force main that has been previously installed by CWWC and is currently in use. The sewer force main will consist of Green Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) C900 DR 18 pipe and/or Green-Striped High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) SDR 11 to be supplied by Owner with Class 350 Ductile Iron Fittings with Protecto 401 Coating (DIP) to be supplied by Contractor. The sewer gravity main will consist of Green Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) SDR 26 sewer pipe. Related appurtenances include isolation valves, air relief valves, manholes, fittings, case bores, connections to existing active sewer mains, as shown in the drawings, to be supplied by the Contractor. Contractor must construct the project in such a manner as to maintain existing services to all customers in all locations. The new wet wells will consist of precast concrete structures with all necessary piping connections and poured in place concrete slabs to support the new lift stations to be supplied by the Contractor. The lift stations will consist of prefabricated fiberglass buildings that are approximately 10 feet wide and 16 feet long as manufactured by Gorman-Rupp and will be supplied by the Owner. The Contractor is responsible for all coordination and installation work related to the lift stations, including but not limited to all civil, electrical, and mechanical works to provide a fully functional lift station to CWWC as shown in the drawings and specifications. Project alternates one and two consist of providing and installing stand-by generators and automatic transfer switches at two (2) of the three pump stations. The Contractor's work also includes all erosion and sedimentation control necessary for the project. The permits required for the project will be acquired by the Owner. The Contractor will be responsible for the cost of any licenses required to complete the work. The Contractor will complete all necessary clean-up and restoration work including filling, finish grading, grassing, landscaping, pavement repairs, driveway repairs, culvert repairs, drainage ditch restoration, and other necessary restoration activities such that post construction conditions are EQUAL TO OR BETTER than those conditions that existed prior to any construction activity occurring. Contractor must mulch all disturbed areas within 7 days of disturbance, and temporary or final grassing must be installed within 14 days of any disturbance. The Owner is authorized to issue change orders, without the necessity of additional requests for bids, within the scope of the Project when appropriate or necessary in the performance of the contract. No additional work shall be performed unless authorized by the Owner. The bidder declares an understanding that the unit price quantities shown in the proposal are subject to adjustment by either increase or decrease, by the Owner. Should the quantities of any items of the work be increased, the bidder proposes to do the additional work at the unit prices stated herein. Should the quantities be decreased, the bidder also understands that payment will be made on actual quantities at the unit price bid and will make no claim for anticipated profits for any decrease in the quantities. Quantities will be determined upon completion of the Work at which time adjustment will be made to the contract amount by direct increase or decrease. Bidder Pre-qualification: Pre-qualification of bidders for this project is required. Bidders must submit a pre-qualification package containing requested information to the Owner by 4:00 P.M. local time on Monday, June 26, 2023. All applicants submitting pre-qualification documentation will be notified of their status via phone call to the contact person listed on the package by 4:00 P.M. local time on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Only bids submitted by properly pre-qualified bidders will be opened. Time Allotted: All work as specified herein shall be completed within 540 calendar days of notice to proceed. Bids: Bids shall contain complete and detailed prices for labor, equipment, and construction materials for all items listed. Contractor's License: All bidders must possess any and all licenses and permits as may be required by applicable federal, state and/or local law/ordinances. The Georgia Utility Contractor License Number of the company submitting the bid shall be written on the face of the sealed bid. The bidder submitting the bid for the project must self perform a minimum of 75% of the labor on the project and have sufficient resources to do so within the allotted time. The bidder may not subcontract out more than 25% of the labor portion of the project. Withdrawal of Bids: Except as provided in O.C.G.A. Section 36-91-43, no submitted bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. Acceptance or Rejection of Bids: The right is reserved to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. Statutory Requirements: Notwithstanding any provision of this advertisement, all proposals must also comply with the minimum applicable requirements of Chapter 91 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated. Requests must be submitted by July 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Interpretations of the documents will be made only by addendum, and a copy of the addendum will be posted on the CWWC website for download at www.chatsworthwater.com . The Owner will not be responsible for other interpretations of the documents. The bids shall be opened publicly and evaluated by the Owner without discussion with the bidders.
