Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Shippagan, New Brunswick. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

NBDTI is conducting a construction services request for a Proposal for the procurement and construction of Lameque-Shippagan Bridge (L100) Rehabilitation Phase 2 - Mechanical and Electrical Upgrades (DTI Contract 23-0258). For this Project, the Work scope is broken into mechanical and electrical components. The mechanical system is to install / replace the lift drive mechanical components including bearing repairs and brake system (i.e., new motor system / pulley systems, pull cables, enclosures etc.) The electrical system will be replacement with a new power distribution panel, new lift span control system and electrical building infrastructure (i.e., generator system for back-up). Proponents are expected to provide construction services for the lift span bridge to replace equipment at near end of life to improve reliability of the bridge and extend the life expectancy to 10-12 years as part of the overall five (5) phases of the Project. Project Phase 2 includes the following: # Replace lift span drive mechanical system # Replace the lift span brake system # Replace Traffic Gates # New power distribution (generator back-up) and control system # New electrical enclosure (building) As for the above work, the gearboxes, and electrical power and control systems are to be supplied by others; the new electrical building is to be supplied and installed by others.
