construction services for the Active Transportation Pathway Extension project. The Active Transportation Pathway Extension project involves extending the Chinook Parkway path. The work relative to this Request for Proposals (RFP) is generally comprised of - 1180 m of 3.0m wide, 50mm thick asphalt pathway; - 185 m of wood fencing; - 135 m of chain link fencing; - 225 m2 of retaining wall at highway bridge crossings; and - 50 trees and landscape repairs. The Place of Work is located in the City of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The Owner will first determine which of the Proposals received may result in a satisfactory construction contract assuring the Owner of: - an early and timely final completion date; - design compliance and excellent quality construction; and - a contract price within budget. The Contractor shall provide site grading, base work, pathway paving, fence construction, retaining wall construction and all related Work Any work that may reasonably be inferred from this RFP and the Contract Document as being required to perform the Work shall form part of the Work and shall be performed by the Contractor, whether or not it is specifically called for, and shall include the supply of all materials, labour, equipment necessary to complete the Work. The intent is that a complete project will be provided by the Contractor. The Proponent should examine the Place of Work before submitting its Proposal and should satisfy itself as to the nature and location of the Work, site conditions and all matters which can in any way affect the Work. The path shall cross beneath Highway 1 and Highway 4 at the locations shown in drawing. The Contractor shall ensure that the workplan and pricing takes these crossings into account.
