The Plans for the construction of the Sanitary Sewer Outfall (SSO) Abandonment Project, Contract C98065C01, consist of 45 sheets dated April 4, 2025. The locations of the work are shown on Sheet 3 of 45. In general, the construction includes 1. Decommissioning and abandoning eight sanitary sewer outfall (SSO) s. 2. Remove existing above grade infrastructure associated with each SSO, provided it is not also a functioning part of either the existing sanitary sewer system or the storm sewer system. This includes electrical panels, communication and monitoring equipment, generators / generator enclosures, and concrete pads. Restore surface to match existing surroundings such as topsoil and seeding and/or pavement restoration. a. Above grade infrastructure is assumed to include any structure (manhole or vault) that is within three (3) feet of the surface. Structures shall be cut a minimum of three feet below grade and removed unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. b. Circular manhole frames and covers are to be returned to the District. The project contemplated consists of abandoning eight sanitary sewer outfall (SSO) s within the District's collection system. Each SSO is different and has different requirements for abandonment. Abandonment of the SSO s ranges from removal of abandoned isolation gates to bulkheading the overflows and filling abandoned overflow piping with flowable slurry.
