Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Yaphank, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a power facility.
The Riverhead County Center Power Plant distributes electrical power and cooling for the Riverhead County Center C0001, Criminal Courts Building C0338, and the Riverhead Correctional Facility C0141. Most of the equipment in the Power Plant has reached the end of its useful life over the last several years. As a result, the County has upgraded and replaced equipment and systems, while making several energy improvements As of August 20, 2024, this project is included in the Suffolk County's FY 2025-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
