This project shall consist of making improvements to the existing streets to include city wide projects for Sidewalk Removal and Replacement, Patching, 3, and Thermoplastic & Modified Urethane Pavement Markings. The Engineer reserves the right to alter the plans, extend or shorten the improvement, add such work as may be necessary, and increase or decrease the quantities of work to be performed all in accordance with Section 104 of the Standard Specifications. The difference in quantities regardless of the percent increase or decrease shall be deemed to pose no significant change in the character of the work for this contract. All quantities are estimated, and payment will made for actual measured work completed. Contractor shall note that projects are city wide and will be small quantities at each location as shown on the List included All questions must be received by 2:00 pm (CST) on Wednesday July 5, 2023. A response to all questions received will be posted on the Citys website via addendum by 5:00 pm (CST) on Friday July 7, 2023 City-Wide Sidewalk, Patching, Striping, and Bike Path Overlay' Approximate quantities of work to include Sidewalk Removal and Replacement (39,893 SQ FT), Earth Excavation (160 CU YD), Patching (8,735 SQ YD), HMA Surface Course (498 TONS) and Base Course (72 TONS), Thermoplastic Pavement Marking (150,000 FT) with intermittent grooving, Modified Urethane Pavement Marking (5,000 FT), and other related items. Prequalification of Bidders is required for this project. The 2 low bidders must file within 24 hours after the letting an "Affidavit of Availability" (Form BC 57), showing all uncompleted contracts awarded to them and all low bids pending award. Any bidder who owes the City money may be disqualified at the City's discretion The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract.
