Renovation of a residential development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,000-square-foot, one-story above grade residential development.

This project will provide interior upgrades to the kitchen server area (approximately 1,000 SF) on Level 1 of the California Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Home of California, West Los Angeles. Basic interior finish upgrades include replacing countertops and sneeze guards, repairing/realigning cabinet doors and hardware, and repairing any damaged surfaces with the closest matching materials. New casework will be installed in Room D140C, and some existing casework will be renovated to improve service. All existing food service equipment will be reused, though some will be relocated. Electrical work is limited to relocating some electrical outlets and one light fixture to accommodate new casework layouts. Plumbing work includes rerouting the soda lines to the new location of the soda machine. This project also includes design options, which provide further interior finish upgrades and are considered as part of the base design. They are as follows: o Design Option 1: This option will update cabinetry (instead of repairing and adjusting) and vertical surfaces below the counters. Cabinetry doors will be replaced. o Design Option 2A: This option will update flooring in the servery. Existing tile flooring will be removed down to the concrete slab and new flooring will be installed. o Design Option 2B: This option will update flooring in the adjacent Dining Room (approximately 3,100 SF). Existing carpet flooring will be removed down to the concrete slab and new flooring and rubber base will be installed. o Design Option 3: This option will update wall and ceiling finishing. Existing tile finish will be removed from walls and ceilings and new finishes will be installed. All bids shall be accompanied by the following forms of bidder's security: Bidder's Bond, cashier's check, certified check or cash. Bidder's Bond shall be executed by an admitted surety insurer, authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. Bond and checks shall be made payable to the director of the California Department of Veterans Affairs. The security shall be in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the amount bid. A bid shall not be considered responsive unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed with it Successful bidder shall furnish payment and performance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. License required to bid the project: Class "B" - General Building Contractor. Work can be performed under a licensed sub-contractor; they must be identified on Bid Form 00 41 00 page 2 Contractors license number. Question Deadline 06/30/2023 . Deadline for Responses to Questions Date: June 30, 2023. Questions must be submitted by email. The estimated term of this project is 120 calendar days. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularity in any bid received.
