The Work shall consist of, but not limited to, removal of existing sewer pipes, installation of new VCP sewer and lateral reinstatement, removal of existing sewer manholes, installation of new manholes, replacing existing 6 VCP sewer service with 6 HDPE, installing sewer cleanouts, roadway and alley rehabilitation, replacement of alley driveway approach, and all related work. The time of completion of contract shall be thirty (30) working days as defined in the Standard Specifications for Public Works, 2021 Edition. Liquidated Damages, as defined in the referenced specifications, Section 6-9, shall be $1,200 per calendar day For this contract, the contractor shall possess Classification "A" license at the time the bid is submitted. September 5, 2023 Notice to Proceed/Start Construction Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier s check, or bidder s bond, made payable to the City of Fullerton, for an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount bid, such guarantee to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. The Contractor shall also obtain a no-fee "Public Right-of-Way Construction and Encroachment Permit" from the Public Works Department, Engineering Division. Both the permit and the license shall be valid for the entire construction period and shall be kept at the job site at all times. All provisions of the permit shall apply and shall have authority over any conditions contained herein these Special Provisions. Any costs incurred due to compliance with the permit or in obtaining a city business license or any other required permit or license shall be included in the contract cost for the work item involved and no additional payment will be made. Failure to comply with these specific licensing and permit requirements will result in withholding of any progress payment(s) to the Contractor.
