The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking proposals to develop and construct a new Bike Park facility to be utilized by the recreation department and organizations to generate recreational tourism interest. This new outdoor recreation facility should provide bicyclists of all skill levels with the opportunity to have fun, develop new skills, and participate in competitions. The facility should include the following elements: Asphalt pump track Skills training area with prefabricated features Beginner level adventure zone Freeride jump zone Flow zone to practice jumping skills Dual slalom course The scope of service outlines but is not limited to the tasks required to complete the Project to meet the goals of designing and building a bike park facility that can be utilized by the Saratoga Springs Recreation Department, individuals, user groups and organizations. Task Design of Bike Park Facility 1. Meet with City representatives and local organizations to gather input on facility features and amenities. 2. Prepare a conceptual plan/preliminary design utilizing best practices. 3. Provide a proposed facility rendering including features of the bike park. 4. Present preliminary design to the Departments of Public Works and Recreation, for the purpose of obtaining feedback and recommendations. 5. Make modifications requested; deliver preliminary design to City for distribution to other interested parties on the project. 6. Present design to the Recreation Commission, incorporate requested changes into the final design. 7. Opinion on probable cost of construction. 8. Provide a maintenance schedule for all equipment and trails and a cost estimate of annual maintenance including staffing, equipment and site repairs. 9. Provide DPW with final stamped plans and specifications for construction, stakeout, and applicable environmental documents such as SEQR and SWPPP. 10. Present final design to the Saratoga Springs City Council 11. Create Bid Documents for the project, including Division 1 technical specifications and assist the City through the RFP process. The City will provide the front end documents. 12. Provide contract administration and construction inspection, including, but not limited to SWPPP inspections, during construction. 13.
