Renovation of an educational facility in Old Westbury, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
SUNY Old Westbury (SOW) intends to renovate Robert F Kennedy Hall, otherwise known as Academic Village Dormitory Building #4, to change its use from a dormitory to apartment residences. The current typical dormitory suite configuration consists of four bedrooms with a single full bathroom and no kitchen. The renovation of each suite, total 15 suites, is to include two bedrooms, a renovated bathroom, a living room with a kitchenette. Currently, the electrical service is undersized and plumbing may need extensive upgrade. SOW seeks a qualifications package for full service professional architectural and engineering services to provide firm background, team and pertinent information prior to a proposal for design phasing, bid/ construction drawings and construction administration, as well as costing for the renovation work. Estimated scope of consultant work to include: (A cost proposal is not asked for at this time) Task No. 1: Electrical Study Task No. 2: Scope of Work Phase 1: Schematic Design Phase 2: Design Development Phase 3: Construction Documents Phase 4: Construction Administration $2,000,000.00 Two Million Dollars for construction. Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 20.14% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 9.86% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6%
