The University of Toronto is seeking responses to this RFP from pre-qualified Design-Builder teams for full services and work related to the design and construction of the University Toronto Library (UTL) Downsview High-Density Storage Expansion 2. This is an addition to an existing storage facility. Proposed area and space program: Proposed High-Bay Storage Room 2,242 sm Proposed one storey administrative/processing area 118 sm Proposed additional mechanical space 112 sm Gross Floor Area 2,515 gsm The project will consist of High Bay Storage area and a one-storey administrative/processing area. The proposed high density storage area shall form a single building envelope that shares a wall with the existing facility. The one-storey addition for processing area is anticipated to be an extension of the existing administrative area. Additional non-assignable spaces such as circulation, mechanical and electrical rooms may be required as part of the expansion. QA deadline 8/15/2023 Based on the design of the existing facilities, it is anticipated that the gross floor area required for the three bay expansion and the one-storey processing area would be approximately 2,515 gsm (including proposed mechanical space). The project's Design-Build Bid for work to be performed by the successful DB team shall not exceed $15,535,000 (excluding HST).
