Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Stoneville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
As of August 15, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline or award has not yet been established. The work may be generally described as, but not limited to, the construction of general aviation apron areas, aircraft storage hangars, and other ancillary facilities such as driveways/roadways. Significant work items associated with this project include approximately 140,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 4,000 tons of asphalt paving, 3,700 feet of pipe installation, hangar construction, retaining wall construction, and other items. Bid Security equal to 5% ofthe total ofthe Base Bid and Bid Additives is required in the form of a cash deposit or a Bid Bond. Contract Security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. Questions related to the Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to the Engineer no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 27th, 2023. The MBE and WBE goals for this project are 0.5% MBE participation and 0.5% WBE participation, or 1% for MBE and WBE participation combined. The Rockingham County Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in or to reject any or all Bids and to award or refrain from awarding the Contract for the work, whichever the Authority deems to be in its best interest.
