Design Build B915 Bridge Crane Support Infrastructure eProject # 1754343 PD21989907-EN-Construct-New Crane-SEABEA-915-NMC PD22182955-EN-Construct-Rollup Door-SEABEA-915-NMC Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, CA PROJECT DESCRIPTION Design and build a new self-supporting steel structure inside Building 915 for a new 3-ton capacity overhead top-running bridge crane system to meet NAVFAC P-307 and NAVCRANECEN INSTRUCTION 11450.2A specifications. The new support structure must be designed for a bridge crane meeting CMAA service class D for ordnance/explosive handling. The support structure shall maximize the crane span and the rail height within the existing building envelope. See Section F10 Special Structures. This task order does not include the procurement and installation of the bridge crane. Survey of the installed crane rails is required. The design of the support infrastructure will require coordination and approval by the Navy Crane Center (NCC) and the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA) prior to final design approval. Allow 120 days for NCC and NOSSA review of the Pre-final Design submittal. Install a new disconnect switch for the bridge crane on the south-east bridge crane support post. Coordinate with Navy Crane Center on the required specifications. Procure and install a new motorized rollup door and relocate the existing personnel door on the east interior wall. The interior wall is a non-load bearing metal stud wall. See Part 6 of the RFP for Conceptual Plan and Record drawings. Demolition of three (3) existing monorails will be required to accommodate the new bridge crane. Relocating and/or raising eight (8) existing lights will be required to maximize the crane hook height. Cap and remove portion of existing compressed air line in the area of the bridge crane. Remove two (2) pneumatic hose reels. Perform and submit a survey report of animal droppings in the Inert Storage Area. Perform professional specialized cleaning and removal of approximately 8,000 SF of bird droppings on the floor of the Inert Storage Area. Follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health and Human Services guidelines. PROJECT OBJECTIVES The Naval Munition Command requires a new 3-ton capacity bridge crane in Building 915.
