The work consists of replacing approximately 2,350 linear feet of existing 6- and 8-inch asbestos cement water main with new 8-inch ductile iron pipe and associated appurtenances. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. In order to receive consideration, questions must be received by Engineer at least five days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents not later than three days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
