**As of August 25, 2023, project was awarded, start date is Mid of September and will be completed by end of this year** The work to be bid is generally described as follows: 378 L.F. - 18" Ductile Iron Water Main with accessories 320 L.F. - 30" Steel Casing by Bore and Jack 40 L.F. - 20" Steel Casing Extension by Open Cut 36 L.F. - 14" Steel Casing Extension by Open Cut Only pre-qualified bidders are allowed to participate in this project. Please contact Engineer prior to bid date for instructions on becoming pre-qualified. Any bid submitted by a bidder who is not pre-qualified will not be accepted. All pre-qualification documentation must be submitted to Engineer 7 days prior to Bid Date. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Shelbyville Municipal Water and Sewer Commission in an amount of not less than 10 percent of the base bid. Time allowed for the completion of the project is 60 consecutive calendar days. Furnish all labor, tools, equipment and materials necessary to complete all stripping, storage and redistribution of topsoil, cut and fill operations, rough and finish grading and construction of drainage swales as applicable in conformity with the lines and grades and slopes as shown on the Drawings. B. Keep open excavations free of water, both surface and subterranean by use of pumps and earth damming around such excavations to drain surface water away from the excavations. C. Protect open excavations by roping areas off, or with barricades or railings to prevent injury to personnel. Contractor shall be responsible to comply with any and all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. D. The Contractor shall include in his bid the cost to furnish, install, operate and maintain dewatering equipment that may be required by Contractor to perform the work as shown on the Drawings and as specified in the Contract Documents. The cost for dewatering shall not be considered a separate pay item.
