Renovation of a water / sewer project in Montague, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Project was cancelled and will going back out to bid, as this came in well above the anticipated budget range. The Clean Water Facilitys Operations Building is approximately 3,700 square feet in area and was constructed in the 1960s, with an addition added in the 1980s. The building hosts all of the pipes that feed into the facility as well as many delicate instruments that monitor the plant. Accordingly, Temperature control is of critical importance. The facilitys existing boiler dates back to the 1980s and has reached the end of its useful life. The town intends to replace the existing oil boiler with a wood pellet heating system in order to reduce the carbon footprint and minimize energy costs. The planned 56Kw vacuum boiler wood pellet system is sized to allow for the future expansion of heat into a large section of the operations building that is currently heated by an electric heater. Furnish and install a vacuum pellet boiler system at the Clean Water Facility Operations Building Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000.
